This quickstart gets a useful chatbot live on your website fast. You'll create a knowledge base, train the bot, customise it and install it - end to end.
Before you start
Have your website URL handy, and access to add a snippet to your site (or your developer on standby). That's all you need.
1. Add knowledge for the bot to learn from
Your chatbot answers using a knowledge base. Give it something to learn:
- Open Knowledge Base.
- Add a source - the quickest is to point it at your website URL so it reads your existing pages. You can also upload a document or write articles.
2. Train the chatbot
- Select the sources you added.
- Start training. Saleszium reads the content and builds the bot's understanding.
- Wait for the "training complete" confirmation.
3. Customise its look and voice
- Set the bot's name, avatar and colours.
- Write a friendly welcome message.
- Add a few suggested questions to guide visitors.
4. Install the widget
- Copy your widget snippet from Settings → Installation.
- Paste it into your website before
</body>and publish.
Full details: Install the widget.
5. Test it live
- Open your website and click the chat bubble.
- Ask a question your content should answer.
- Confirm the bot replies accurately.
You're live
Visitors can now self-serve answers around the clock. When they need a person, the conversation lands in your inbox.
Where to go next
- Improve answers by expanding your Knowledge Base.
- Connect WhatsApp and email.
- Start capturing leads and building automations.
